Christmas Craft Fair
December 1 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pmFree
Kerry Writers’ Museum’s Christmas Craft Fair takes place on Sunday December 1st from 11 am to 5pm.
A wide range of locally produced crafts will be on sale. These include pottery, knitwear, jewellery, photography, and seasonal gifts, to name but a few. Visitors can also enjoy some festive treats with a freshly brewed cup of award winning Alfredo coffee at Castle View Café.
Many of our craft producers are members of Original Kerry. This umbrella brand supports 29 craft professionals whose studios and workshops are located across County Kerry. If you are a visitor to our stunning County, Kerry provides the perfect base for you to enjoy a short visit or longer stay. You can explore and experience the process of fine craft making with many of the County’s fabulous craft makers. For example, learn how to throw a pot or create a beautiful painting.
One of the best examples of the beautiful crafts available at our Christmas Craft Fair is Woodford Pottery, a one man operation located just outside Listowel. Master potter Pat Murphy produces a wide range of very beautiful and practical items. For instance a variety of tableware and one-off pieces such as bowls, lamps and vases and an adorable Christmas crib. Originally from Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford Pat worked for many years with Stephen Pearce Pottery as a thrower.
