Revival Cultural Corner

Festival goers to the Revival Music Festival in Listowel this August are in for a special treat between both night’s concerts at Revival Cultural Corner which takes place at Kerry Writers’ Museum and Listowel Castle on Saturday August 10th from 11 am to 5 pm.
An initiative of Kerry Writers’ Museum, Revival Cultural Corner will feature a programme of creative and cultural events including a craft market, poetry & drama performance and music sessions. “The idea is that festival goers can chill out for the afternoon and enjoy some great local talent” said Cara Trant, Museum manager. “They can also pop in and take a tour of the Writers’ Museum”.
The craft market will open at 11 am with some beautiful locally produced craft products on sale. It will also include a demonstration by local potter Pat Murphy of Woodford Pottery. The Seanchaí Writers’ Group will perform their poetry, including readings from some of the young writers who participated in the recent Write Mix Summer Camp at Kerry Writers’ Museum. Music will be provided by Jim Gornall and Ian O’Shea with members of the Listowel Ramblers. Kerry Writers’ Museum are inviting local artists to come along and display their work on the railing in front of the Museum. All performances are free and will take place from 2 to 5 pm in front of Listowel Castle.
Visitors and locals can also avail of free tours of Listowel Castle and take the Listowel Guided Heritage Walk which starts at 11 am. So come along to Revival Cultural Corner, relax and enjoy some great entertainment.
